Taking the festival to the Glens!

10th Aug 2014

'A First'! Literary lunch in Kirkmichael, Strathardle with Kenneth Steven on Thursday 14 August

There are still a few tickets left for BOOKMARK 2014's first literary lunch in the Glens [on Thursday 14th August from 13.00 - 15.00]. For the ticket price of £10 you get a two course lunch at the Kirkmichael hotel, Kirkmichael followed by a session with KENNETH STEVEN. Seats are limited in this intimate setting.

Kenneth Steven grew up in Highland Perthshire. After years in Norway and studying in Glasgow, he returned to his home ground to write; the cabin where he does all his work is in Aberfeldy. Kenneth is first and foremost a poet (his 12th collection 'Coracle' was published this year), but he is also very much a writer of fiction for adults and children alike. His novel 'Glen Lyon' was brought out in 2012 by Birlinn. Kenneth will talk about his background as a writer and read from his published work, answering as many questions as time permits.

If you'd like to join us in Kirkmichael please get a ticket in advance from Louise [formerly The Bookshop] 16 Allan Street Blairgowrie tel 01250 876004 or online at this website.

This event is being sponsored by SSE Scottish Hydro Drumderg Community Fund

I greatly appreciated the superb organisation and was amazed at the level of enthusiasm for the Festival considering the relatively small size of the community.  It was well worth it for me to come up to Perthshire and I was only sorry I couldn‘t stay around for the main events the next day.
