Roald Dahl Comes to Blair

9th Sep 2014

Saturday 13th September is Roald Dahl Day and this year Blairgowrie Library will be hosting a Roald Dahl event to celebrate it. From 11.15 to 12.15, the Library will be putting on an hour of activities involving favourite Dahl characters for children aged 4-10. So come along and have some fun with George and his mayhemic medicine, the foulsome Witches and Matilda and her parent-scaring tricks. Organised in collaboration with Good Morning Britain’s literacy campaign, the Library will also be giving 50 copies of ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ to 50 lucky children. Just the thing to whet children’s appetites in the run up to the BOOKMARK Festival when miniBOOKMARK will be offering a number of events for younger readers, many of whom have recently had the opportunity to explore the joys of reading and writing under the tutelage of BOOKMARK’s Writer-in-Residence Joan Lennon. The event this weekend is free and children aged 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult. For further details please contact Blairgowrie Library.
