'Place Settings' launched in style

14th Jan 2015

Friday, 9th January, saw the official launch of an anthology of prose and poetry from East Perthshire writers. ‘Place Settings’ is the brainchild of author, Joan Lennon, and is one of the key legacies of her Writer in Residency during BOOKMARK 2014.

Talented young artists from Blairgowrie High School provided beautiful artwork to accompany the writing pieces in a project which forms part of Perth & Kinross council’s Place Partnership scheme funded by Creative Scotland. Blairgowrie Library hosted the event with Liz Grant, Provost of Perth & Kinross, doing the honours.

On show was an exhibition of some of the original artwork as well as a selection of writing pieces. And, of course, free copies of the high-quality, black and white publication were available to take home to savour. Additional free copies of ‘Place Settings’ are available from libraries across East Perthshire.

Testimonials

A great time was had by all. We also enjoyed The Blairgowrie Players’ version of Whisky Galore at the Town Hall yesterday. Well done to all and the afternoon tea was delicious.
