BOOKMARK Children in Schools Festival - first event hailed a great success!

12th Sep 2016

Author Bob Harris a big hit with over 200 children at Blairgowrie Community Campus!

Over 200 children from P4/5 age , were kept enthralled by Bob Harris' Norse stories at Blairgowrie Community Campus - no mean feat!

Bob took one child from each school to act out the pantomime characters as he told the story. The rest of the children were fully engaged as they had to continually participate as pantomime audiences do, finishing up with questions, of which there were many.

Bob thought the venue, Blairgowrie Community Campus, which is the new home of our Bookmark 2016 Festival, was terrific and he was so pleased  with the children's participation  and responses, not to mention the huge number of his books which were sold - in their dozens!

There was great participation from the Headteachers and staff involved who picked up the enthusiasm of the pupils, making it a great and successful event all round!

We were here last night and had to come back today.

We know we will have a lovely time.

It’s been absolutely brilliant, such a lot of hard work has gone into this and it shows.

Nice venue - clean, fresh. Fantastic auditorium.

Excellent. I’ll definitely be back next year. Sally Magnusson was so interesting and inspiring. The calibre of speakers was first class. Thanks so much.

What a brilliant festival! Great authors, lovely venue, & everyone I’ve spoken to is just so friendly!

Fantastic art work from the High School pupils.
