Mad Hatter Makes Money for BOOKMARK

28th Jul 2013

BOOKMARK'S prayers were answered when Saturday dawned bright and dry for their fundraising Mad Hatter's Tea Party. The garden setting was soon decked out with gazebos to house a range of stalls selling everything from books to plants.

But you can't have a Mad Hatter's tea party without a Mad Hatter. And this one was magnificent! Guests posed and paid to have their photo taken with him in his stunningly crazy outfit.

By 2pm the BOOKMARK team was in full swing, serving teas, coffees and delicious home baking.

Many thanks to all who supported the event, including John Swinney MSP and Sir William Macpherson.

The final total came to £475, well in excess of the target. The money will be set aside to fund next year's festival and to ensure that BOOKMARK is here to stay.

Well done, team BOOKMARK!
