Festival Roundup

20th Oct 2013

BOOKMARK's first festival has been judged a resounding success by authors and festival goers alike. Fiona Armstrong who chaired two of the events called it a 'triumph' while author James Robertson said it was 'the most professionally produced festival' he'd attended. From Friday night's performance by Liz Lochhead to Saturday's finale whisky tasting, the Royal Hotel venue was packed to near capacity. And the same was true for the majority of the Mini BOOKMARK sessions.

While the rain poured down outside, inside the air buzzed with anticipation and appreciation. Authors and festival goers mingled in a friendly atmosphere of shared enthusiasm for books and the magical world of the imagination into which books can lead us.

We were here last night and had to come back today.

We know we will have a lovely time.

It’s been absolutely brilliant, such a lot of hard work has gone into this and it shows.

Nice venue - clean, fresh. Fantastic auditorium.

Excellent. I’ll definitely be back next year. Sally Magnusson was so interesting and inspiring. The calibre of speakers was first class. Thanks so much.
