Allan Massie

Allan is a Scottish journalist and critic.  Gore Vidal called him a 'Master of the Long Ago Historical Novel'.  His 1980 novel A Question of Loyalties won the Saltire Society's Scottish Book of the Year Award. The Ragged Lion, discussed at BOOKMARK 2018 is an apparently fictional memoir written by Walter Scott.
