Caro Ramsay

Caro Ramsay was born in Govan, Glasgow and started writing during a long spell in hospital. 

Her debut novel, Absolution was short-listed for the New Blood Dagger. Singing to the Dead was long listed for the Theakston’s Crime Novel Of  The Year. Dark Water short listed for the Guardian Audio Book of The Year  2010.

She edited The Killer Cookbook for Professor Sue Black’s Million for a Morgue campaign and holds a Forensic Medical Science Diploma to aid her crime writing.

With Douglas Skelton and Michael Malone, Caro Ramsay is part of the Carry On Sleuthing crime writers’ acting troupe who take performance art to totally new depths. Where She Lies was published in paperback in August 26. The hardback of The Murder Tree will be published in early November 2026.
