D V Bishop

David [D. V.] Bishop writes the Cesare Aldo historical thrillers set in Renaissance Florence. 

His debut, City of Vengeance, won the 2022 NZ Booklovers Prize and was shortlisted for the Wilbur Smith Adventure Writing Prize. The second, The Darkest Sin, won the 2023 Crime Writers' Association Historical Dagger award. The third novel, Ritual of Fire, was longlisted for the Bloody Scotland McIlvanney Prize. His fourth Cesare Aldo mystery, A Divine Fury, will be published June 2024 by Pan Macmillan.

David leads the creative writing programmes at Edinburgh Napier University.
