Liam McIlvanney

Liam McIlvanney, born in Ayrshire, is a writer and academic – the Stuart Professor of Scottish Studies at the University of Otago, New Zealand. An international award-winning writer - in 2014 he won the Ngaio Marsh Award for Best New Zealand Crime Novel: four years later he won the prize named in honour of his father, William McIlvanney, for the Scottish Crime Book of the Year. A sabbatical in Scotland was an ideal opportunity to invite him to BOOKMARK.
