Bill explained to Peter Lovegrove why when he began to ponder ideas for a third book, his thoughts turned to Scotland. In the late 1960's, he'd spent a week with his school cadet force at the Cultybraggan army camp near Comrie. The place had always haunted him, and when he dug back into its history he discovered a horrifying secret from its days as a wartime POW camp. Bill is married with two grown up children, and lives in Ampleforth, North Yorkshire.
