Hania’s detective, Dania Gorski, based in Dundee, vividly captures not only the city and its people but also the richness of Polish culture too, embodied in Dania and her journalist brother Marek.  Her new novel, Clearing the Dark, continues our involvement with the Gorskis and takes us further into the dark heart of crime.  These novels are a first-class addition to the already acclaimed quality of Scottish crime fiction and deserve our attention – particularly to those of us who live nearby!  This event was Chaired by Joyce Caplan, Chair of the Poetry Association of Scotland, a Trustee of Scottish PEN and President of The Friends of Edinburgh University Library.
