James Robertson, a prolific and popular poet, novelist, children’s writer and the Scottish Parliament’s first Writer in Residence returns to BOOKMARK to discuss his eagerly awaited seventh novel. All James’ fiction explores important themes of Scotland’s past and present – including Joseph Knight, the freed Scottish slave, to Lockerbie - and this discussion of his new book has the promise of expanding to encompass his wide range of interests.
This event will be Chaired by Joyce Caplan, Chair of the Poetry Association of Scotland, a Trustee of Scottish PEN and President of The Friends of Edinburgh University Library.
James will announce the winner of the Christine Findlay Prize: a new award given by BOOKMARK to the best story written by a senior pupil at Blairgowrie high School
