This is, above all, a book about the history of a Scottish family – The Grants of Kilgraston, but it is also a story of opportunism, wealth, good fortune and tragedies set against the background of slavery in Jamaica.
Following on from Richard and Magnus' discussion, after a short interval for tea, cake and the raffle, Magnus has very kindly offered to tell us about his time in Ukraine. This event is free to those who attended the first session but it is requested that a donation be made to Siobhan's Trust, a family run Scottish-based local charity, who provide food and practical support to the huge number of internally displaced Ukrainians, traumatised by the Russian invasion of their homeland. Proceeds from the raffle will also go to this charity.
