Sarah Maine – Women of the Dunes
Sarah’s previous novel The House Between Tides was named Waterstone’s Scottish Book of the Year and her latest one has been similarly highly acclaimed. An archaeologist by profession, Sarah’s dual-narrative fiction explores how much the past affects the present and evokes the wild landscapes of the west coast (and elsewhere) vividly and effectively. ‘Legends are tales retold down the generations. But does truth survive the centuries of retelling, or does it twist and warp along the way?’ In conversation with one of our Patrons, Magnus Linklater, Sarah enthralled us by talking about her fascination with time, character and place.
